Glimpses of Gratitude {June 13, 2011}

For the beauty of the earth,
For the glory of the skies,
For the love which from our birth
Over and around us lies,
Lord of all, to Thee we raise,
This our hymn of grateful praise.

Today I'm raising my grateful hymn to the Lord of all for the following and more:
~lavender just beginning to bloom out

~blackberries from the bush to the faucet to the mouth
~giving and receiving prayers in comments
~answered prayer for a loved one
~happy tears
~lovely, encouraging encounter with a neighbor I hadn't seen in a while
~beautiful, delicate sunrise like waves of apricot light sweeping over a cloud archipelago
~A. taking a personal day today and using part of it to accompany me to the doctor at the university hospital downtown

 ~more roses in jam jars

~tomatoes getting sun
~wonderful, helpful information from the "Kick Out the Lies" Webinar offered by Holley Gerth and Denise Martin last week

"Lift up your face to God and find delight in Him."
~honest stranger returning my dropped cash envelope to customer service

~celebrating the home team with family. Way to go, Mavs!

from the gratitude list, #445-458

Giving thanks to God in community today...

  1. Your tomatoes are big! Mine are struggling for survival. :) And blackberries! We had them growing up and so we planted some this year. Only two plants have survived. What lovely roses! And what a lovely list of gratitude. Thank you! Have a wonderful week filled with blessing-counting. :)

  2. @AnneAllen gives his vegetables extra TLC and water. :)

He planted the blackberry bush last year and it appeared to have died, but it grew back from the root stock, apparently reverting to graft. A fun surprise.

May you have a wonderful week, too!

  3. It's not quite blackberry time here yet, but I am looking forward to it when it is.

  4. Oh, I wish I lived as far South as you do! I'm envious of your garden. Have a great week! (Go Mavs!)

  5. Your post is so full of life on every level. Flowers in Jam Jars = a favorite! Blessings and Health to You, Friend.

  6. Those blackberries made my mouth water! Such lovely, lovely gifts. I always rejoice to see what the Lord is doing in the hearts of my precious sisters.

  7. Your roses are gorgeous and blackberries look delicious! Beautiful gifts.

Thank you for sharing your day with me! Your presence here is a gift. *You* are a gift. Right now I am unable to reply to every comment, but please know I read and pray for each and every commenter. Grace and peace to you in Christ.
