My photos do not do justice to the sunrise on this penultimate day of 2011, but here is my best shot at capturing the 360 degrees of glory for you:

Because of our God’s merciful compassion,

the Dawn from on high will visit us
to shine on those who live in darkness
and the shadow of death,
to guide our feet into the way of peace.

Luke 1:78-79, HCSB

Come soon, Lord Jesus!

  1. Love the pictures! Wishing you a wonderful New Year!

  2. Oh yes!!! Come soon, Lord!

    What a glorious sky!! :)

  3. Beautiful! Those are similar colors to what I saw in our sunset this evening. Glad to see them here—captured. And yes, yes, Come soon, Lord Jesus! Amen!

  4. These pics lead up to the verse like a crescendo. Lovely. Even so. God's rich blessings to you in the new year!

  5. And to you, Sylvia. The Lord brought you to mind for prayer this morning, so it's timely you stopped by. Thank you for your kind words, friend.

  6. Thank you, Amy. It's nice to know our days mirrored each other. A blessed new year to you and yours!

  7. Can't be soon enough for me. It was glorious; I'm glad you could see that. Bless you, friend.

  8. Thanks, Kelly! May you and yours have a wonderfully blessed new year, too!

  9. I {heart} the sky. I am frequently commenting to God about His beautiful paintings overhead and ruefully asking for Him to teach me this art when we are finally together in our true Home. The fourth picture here is my favorite--something about the stronger light creeping up from the lower left corner, bubbling with anticipation of the sun's revelation. Thank you for sharing this beauty, Friend!

  10. I love His sky paintings too. Most blessed new year to you, dearie.
